Offshore Oil and Gas Oil Rig

Maps

The Federation of Russian States Oil and Gas Activity and Concession Map - 2nd Edition - 2007

Areas of special interest on the map include:

  • The Barents and Pechora Seas - Expectations for this region are huge. It is undoubtably the most challenging. These regions have inspired new exploration and development, particularly with the two largest projects - Shtokmanovskoye gas field and Prirazlomnoye oil field. Within the next three years Russia is planning to commence licensing a possible 22 blocks in the Russian Arctic. There are already 6 blocks open to offer in the Pechora Sea.
  • Ob Bay and Yamal Peninsula - With successful exploration drilling having now taken place, this region is looking very positive for further development.
  • Northern Baltic Sea - With Primorsk being Russia's export gateway to the West, this is the Western limit to the map.
  • The Black Sea - A major export link to the West, with the recently opened Bluestream Pipeline
  • Sakhalin Island and The Sea of Okhotsk - This new hydrocarbon province is estimated to hold over 14 billion barrels of oil and 2800 billion cubic metres of gas. All six offshore areas designated for development are shown, including field locations with platform location, new pipeline routes and Oil, Gas and LNG export terminals. This region forms the furthest Eastern limit of the map.
  • West Siberia - The majority of Russian oil reserves lie in this region, with an estimated 450 named fields, of which 123 are developed. With the approval for the start up of the North Vadelyp oilfield in the region, expected to reach a peak output of 18,000 barrels a day, from an expected reserve of over 104 million barrels, interest in this region is high.
  • The Northern Caspian Sea - Particular focus has been given to the West Coast Caspian Sea, with new potential for the large Tsentralnoye oilfield. Several large discoveries have been made offshore Russia in the Caspian Sea which are shown on the map.
  • On and offshore data for the complete FSU region n Oil & Gas fields n Concession and licence blocks n Current block ownerships
  • Current, planned and proposed pipelines
  • Oil Refineries n Gas Processing Plants
  • LNG Plants n Marine Terminals
  • Export and supply n Major cities, ports, rivers and canals n Minimum and maximum expected ice flows for summer and winter.
